East Kent Mencap is delighted to have secured funding from the National Lottery through the Big Lottery Fund to deliver a four year project in Thanet. GOLD, Getting On with Learning Disability, will support local people with learning disabilities, who do not receive statutory funding or are moving out of the welfare system to remain independent and less dependent on welfare services.
East Kent Mencap is looking to recruit a number of full time support workers to join our Supporting Independence Service team in Cliftonville. Working to the guidelines of Valuing People Now, you will offer a personalised service to up to 11 adults with Learning Disabilities within our two supported living homes located in Cliftonville.
We are currently seeking a full time support worker to join our rapidly expanding Supporting Independence Service team in Herne Bay. Working to the guidelines of Valuing People Now, you will offer a personalised service to four adults with learning disabilities within our supported living property in Herne Bay, as well as community-based individuals in the surrounding areas.
The Supporting People Enablement Team (SPET) are currently helping one of our older tenants to find a companion to spend time with on a regular basis. She loves spending time out and about and is looking for a mature female to share her love of arts and crafts, accompany her on trips, and have a chat over coffee.
GOLD are looking for volunteers to support their social group. They are looking for someone who is fun, chatty and enjoys a joke. You don’t have to be good at snooker or bowling just willing to throw yourself into things and have a go!
