Festive Bauble Appeal

Natasha and her bauble

Help make Christmas merry for all! Donate to East Kent Mencap’s Festive Bauble Appeal and support people with a learning disability

This Christmas, we are spreading joy through our personalised bauble campaign. For just £5, we will personalise a bauble and place it on the East Kent Mencap Christmas tree.

Over the festive season, we will be hosting events and activities for people with a learning disability to celebrate in a supportive and welcoming environment. Many people with a learning disability do not have the same control over their own lives as the rest of our society, facing challenges and prejudice every day. Christmas can be a lonely time, especially for those who don’t have any close family to celebrate with. We want our festive activities to be joyful, with food and entertainment for everyone, especially for those who might otherwise feel left out or be spending Christmas alone.

Donate £5 to our Festive Bauble Appeal by going here and tell us what name you would like to go on the bauble for the East Kent Mencap Christmas tree.

“It’s such a lovely way to celebrate Christmas and the newest member of our family, whilst supporting a cause that is important to me,” said supporter, Fiona.

Fiona chose to personalise a bauble with her new grandson’s name, while supporter, Phil opted for his pet’s name, and local company Redline Clothing dedicated one to their business.

We are aiming to raise £1,000 which will go towards our Christmas events and activities.

Jason Gerlack, East Kent Mencap CEO, said: “Every penny donated will go towards our services for people with a learning disability, to live as independently as possible and to achieve the things they want out of life. Your support this festive season can really make a difference and bring joy to vulnerable people.”
