FORGOT YOUR DETAILS?

William House

Our William House supported living property is a seven-bedroom, first and second floor flat with two lounges, a large kitchen and two bathrooms. 24-hour support is provided in this property.

William House is situated in Cliftonville, which is within easy walking distance of Margate town centre, where tenants can visit places such as Dreamland, Turner Contemporary and the Old Town. In Cliftonville, tenants have access to amenities such as pharmacies, supermarkets and banks. There are also a number of transport links, allowing them to visit elsewhere in East Kent.

Tenants at William House are also entitled to support from our Supporting People Enablement Team (SPET), allowing them to achieve the things they want out of life, whether this is maintaining contact with friends and family, finding a job, or speaking up about the things that are important to them.

Our Margate resource centre is in close proximity to William House, providing tenants with the opportunity to develop their life skills, take part in therapeutic activities and access services within the community.

For more information, contact us via email, or phone 01843-224482.

There’s no place like home

At our annual general meeting in 2016, a relative of one of our tenants raised a concern that our supported living accommodation offered no provision for older people who require more accessible facilities. In response to this, we invested in the purchase of a property in Palm Bay.

#StopSleepInCrisis

National Mencap are leading a high profile media campaign about the current funding crisis in the sector relating to sleep in support for housing and social care services for people with a learning disability. Mencap are highlighting the government’s need to take action to protect services for the people that need care and support most, by taking responsibility for fully funding these services.
This week, our tenants at Arkley Road celebrated Christmas, a little earlier than the rest of us. Support Workers, Kelly Forrest and Kerry Williams came up with the idea to have a ‘Christmas Day’ earlier in the month as tenants were heading back to their families for the holidays.
On Saturday 25th November, Margate Football Club invited a group of people from East Kent Mencap to spend the afternoon as VIP guests at the match against Egham Town. Over 350 people watched as we unveiled our pitch side banner.
