We are thrilled to announce that EKM has won three categories at the Kent Care Awards 2022. Congratulations to our winners:
Alida Mulhall, ‘Putting People First’ Award, in recognition of her fresh and original perspective on person-centered support. She is a valued member of the team and provided exceptional delivery of care and support to our members at Thanet Day Resource.
Amy Amos, ‘Apprentice of the Year’ Award, impressed the judges with her enthusiastic undertaking of her apprenticeship at Swale Day Services.
Alison Fengas, ‘Recruitment, Recognition, and Reward’ Award, was praised for her innovative approach to HR.
We were also finalists for two further awards. Rebecca Walker, Swale Support Worker, was a finalist for ‘Newcomer of the Year’ Award and recognised as an exceptional candidate new to the care industry. Thanet Day Resource Team was a finalist for ‘Care Team of the Year’ Award and was congratulated on their ability to work together as a team to enhance the lives of those that they support.
This is the 7th Annual Kent Care Awards, organised by KiCA; a collaborative social enterprise that help shape the future of social care and health in Kent and Medway. The awards celebrate the care sector in our county and help to grow the appreciation for the work they do.
EKM staff together with Directors and representatives from our Members Committee, attended the special award ceremony on Friday 16th September 2022 at the Mercure Great Danes Hotel in Maidstone.
Amy from our Members Committee shared: “It was fantastic; a very posh hotel and red carpet! I went up on stage to pick up Aldia’s award…and I held another award. We jumped for joy. I really enjoyed it.”
The evening was generously sponsored by Kent County Council, and included a red carpet, award ceremony, delicious dinner and dancing afterwards at the disco. All winners and finalists were given trophies and we look forward to proudly displaying them for all to see. Our team does an amazing job and these awards are a wonderful way to recognise their commitment and hard work.
