BBC Children in Need recently funded us to run three youth clubs during the school holidays, providing the opportunity for young people with a learning disability to take part in community activities.
To run the clubs, we received £9579 from the charity. The last of the three clubs took place during the summer holidays and was based at The Foreland School in Broadstairs. Activities included bowling, pottery painting and a day out at Wildwood.
Children & Youth Manager, Ange Brown, said: “The funding from Children in Need allowed us to offer an opportunity to children and young people that might not be eligible for other services. External funding also enables us to plan day trips to places like Wildwood, which really make a difference to the children’s school holidays.”
