For the Easter holidays, our children & youth department provided clubs for young people of all ages.
The project, funded by Kent County Council, included a five-day club for 8-15 year-olds, and a three-day club for young people aged 16+. The 8-15 club was based at Green Banks in Margate, where the group had access to soft-play and sensory rooms. The group were also supported to access the local community, visiting the Turner Contemporary, Margate beach and some local parks.
Based at the Foreland Fields School in Ramsgate, the 16+ club had access to the building’s brand new facilities, including the home economics room, the music room and the garden. Staff also supported the group to access the local community, where they took part in a health walk.
“One parent told us that when her daughter was at our club, it was the only time she wasn’t anxious while away from home,” commented Children & Youth Manager, Ange Brown.
