This week, our tenants in Arkley Road celebrated Christmas, a little earlier than the rest of us. Support Workers, Kelly Forrest and Kerry Williams came up with the idea to have a ‘Christmas Day’ earlier in the month as tenants were heading back to their families for the holidays.
Both tenants and staff donned their best Christmas jumpers on the day and sang along to festive songs. The group enjoyed a traditional Christmas dinner with all the trimmings thanks to Support Worker, Kelly, who took to the kitchen to ensure everything was perfect for the special day.
The festivities continued as the day went on with a Christmas quiz and games. The group had great fun playing a guessing game called ‘Headbands’. Both staff and tenants took part in Secret Santa and presents were opened with great joy. Tenants, Gary, Jez, Holly, Alison and Paul enjoyed being able to celebrate Christmas together alongside staff.
Canterbury Community Manager, Della Heaton, said: ‘Great food, great company, great presents, great fun! Thank you to Kelly and Kerry for making it happen.’
