Following a number of successful funding bids, we are in the process of expanding our Youth Services quite significantly.
Among these successes are two grants from Kent County Council. The first will fund a trampolining club for children aged between 8 and 15 years old, which will take place in the evenings at Ursuline Sports College in Birchington. The second grant from Kent County Council will fund a transitional club for young people aged 16+ years, which will also take place in the evenings, but at The Foreland School. This club will offer an additional five days of holiday club provision in the Summer, and another three days at Easter.
We have also received funding from Sport England, enabling us to provide another trampolining club at Ursuline, which will run after the Kent County Council funded club and is not limited to the 8-15 years old age range.
In addition to this funding, we have also been successful in a recent tender, made to Kent County Council. This is for a ‘specialist’ provision for children aged 8-15 years old, who might need a slightly higher level of support. This will be based at Green Banks Children’s Multi-Agency-Specialist-Hub in Garlinge, and take place on alternate Saturday’s in term-time and through most of the school holidays.
Alongside this, we are also developing a day service at Foresters Hall, our Ramsgate resource centre. This is aimed at young adults that require more support than that provided by the existing service based at our Margate resource centre.
