East Kent Mencap offers high-quality personalised day services to adults with learning disabilities and complex needs throughout East Kent.
We are currently offering a full time contract for a Senior Support Worker to work in our Resource Centre in the Sheerness area. As this is an expanding service, your hours will also initially need to be shared within our housing and community areas.
Your role as the Senior Support Worker will be to work as part of a team, be a key worker and support your colleagues to promote the independence of our service users. You will be required to support the manager in the daily running of the service and you must be IT literate. You will also undertake staff supervisions and chair team meetings.
Our service includes community access for the tenants that we support and we would therefore welcome applications from candidates with a full, clean driver’s license.
Previous experience is essential for this opportunity and you must be able to demonstrate a reliable and flexible approach to people with a learning disability. You must also hold An NVQ3 in Health and Social Care (or equivalent) or be working towards it. In return we offer a full induction and training programme. A bespoke salary progression framework, a generous length of service holiday scheme and sickness allowance, pension, childcare vouchers and employee benefit package. If you would like to join our expanding team then please send your CV and covering letter to Alison Fengas. Shortlisted candidates will then be asked to fill in an application form providing further information.
The closing date for this vacancy is Tuesday 19th March 2019. Successful candidates will be contacted after this closing date. Being holders of the positive about disabled people award, disabled applicants who meet the minimum criteria will be offered an interview in every circumstance.
