Salary/Rate: £8.33 – 9.14/hour

We are currently seeking to expand our team of employees after developing a range of services aimed at supporting children, young people and adults with a learning disability, all of whom will have a wide range of complex physical and/or behavioural and communication needs.
In addition to existing services, we will support individuals within their own homes, to access their community and engage in social activities.
Your role will be to work as part of a team, as well as having the confidence and skills to support individuals safely on your own.
Your responsibilities will include becoming a key-worker, adhering to the ethos of East Kent Mencap and providing a person-centred approach. You will be expected to constantly promote good practice and apply the principals behind aiding total communication, therefore, offering a truly bespoke service. You will be expected to enable, engage and provide positive outcomes for the well-being of everyone you support.
For this specialised role, you must be able to demonstrate a reliable and flexible approach to people with a learning disability, their families, your colleagues and other professionals.
We are currently offering full time, part time and flexible contracts, to cover day time, evening, weekend and possibly night shifts, during both term-time and non-term time. Previous experience is desirable for these opportunities.
An NVQ3 in Health and Social Care (or equivalent) is essential for this role, or you must be prepared to work towards it. In return we offer a full induction and training programme.
