In May, a local man walked part of the Pennine Way in an effort to raise funds for East Kent Mencap. Swale resident, Andrew Brightman-Stokes, walked the 52 miles from Edale to Hebden Bridge in three days.
Andrew chose to walk this route for East Kent Mencap because he wanted to raise funds for a local charity that supports children and young people, and while the Pennine Way is challenging, the views make it worthwhile.
“Knowing that in walking those 52 miles, I was raising funds for a good cause, made the experience all the more rewarding,” commented Andrew. “For anyone considering taking part in a similar challenge, why not do it for charity?”
