To spread some Christmas cheer, members of Blend singing group and East Kent Mencap recently performed a carol service for shoppers at Westwood Cross.
The Mayor and Mayoress of Ramsgate, Cllr Trevor and Mandy Shonk, were also present and joined in with the singing.
Together, the group performed classics such as ‘Deck the Halls’, to Shakin Stevens’ ‘Merry Christmas Everyone’.
Many shoppers stopped to watch the service, which raised just under £150 for our Christmas appeal.
Blend’s Katharine Mantell, said: “This is Blend’s third year supporting East Kent Mencap’s carol singing event at Westwood Cross. As always it was great fun, with plenty of enthusiastic singing from all and fantastic support from passing shoppers.”
“The Mayoress and I had a fantastic time at the East Kent Mencap Christmas carol event at Westwood Cross,” commented Cllr Shonk. “It was great to see so many supporting the event and joining in with the singing.”
