We are seeking a creative-thinking Support Worker to work in our new club for young adults with autism. This will involve supporting members, aged 11-18 years, with a range of projects of their choosing. This unique project will involve some of our older members volunteering as peers to the members of this club as part of a buddy scheme. This means the role will involve acting as a facilitator of the peer support offered by the volunteer buddies.
This position also offers the opportunity of flexible bank work, which would involve supporting members in range of exciting sessions at our Day Service including life skills, cooking, sports, up-cycling, music, drama, leisure and social activities.
Our ideal candidates will demonstrate an empowering and friendly attitude and possess previous experience of working in a similar setting with children or adults with autism. However, we will also consider applications from people with a positive attitude and transferable skills.
Applicants need to be available to work on the weekends and have the desire to cover additional shifts on a flexible basis.
