During the month of May, our photography group exhibited their work at Birchington Library.
The exhibition, titled Travels with my Camera, featured photographs taken at a number of local nature reserves, including Sandwich Bay Bird Observatory, Pegwell Bay and Wildwood.
The group invited members of the public to attend an open day, where they talked about their experiences and what they had learnt about both photography and wildlife.
The open day was attended by Margate’s Deputy Mayor, Cllr Rozamund Dixon, who judged the three best photographs and presented certificates to the winners. Third place went to Susan Abeles, second to Sara Ward and first to Jason Flanders.
Support Worker, Russell Miles, said: “The group were very proud to exhibit their work at Birchington Library and were pleased to see the Deputy Mayor at the open day. Being able to have a presence in such a community setting helps to raise awareness of people with a learning disability. Many thanks to Kent Libraries for its support.”
