During the month of June, our photography group showcased some of their best work in an exhibition titled Wildlife and Abstract at Beach House Gallery in Herne Bay.
The group invited friends and supporters to an open day where they talked about their experiences in the different locations as well as the techniques used to capture the stunning images which were all taken locally.
The open day was a thriving success with a stream of visitors throughout the day. The group were delighted to welcome Councillor George Metcalfe and his wife Lillian, plus visitors to the event. The Councillor judged the three best photographs and presented certificates to Jason Flanders, Pat Brownsell and John Kendall, commenting that all the photographs were of a very high quality and that everyone was a winner.
Support Worker, Russell Miles, said: “The best one ever! There was a really good volume of people visiting. The group were so happy to see their work on the wall and it showed a lot of other people with learning disabilities what can be achieved with photography”
Our photography group are all adults with a learning disability who take pride in producing high quality photographs from around East Kent. Established over 10 years ago, the group has exhibited at galleries across Kent and won several awards for their work.
