GOLD are looking for volunteers to support their social group. Getting On with Learning Difficulties (GOLD) is funded by the Big Lottery Fund and provides free information and advice to people with learning difficulties. The project supports people with benefits, housing, debt and budgeting, volunteering, leisure activities, meeting people and campaigning.
The social group meets every Wednesday in Cliftonville, Margate. They are a group of people with a learning disability who meet to play snooker, crazy golf or go bowling. The purpose of the group is to meet up with friends, have fun and a good chat.
They are currently looking for a volunteer to support the group to organise and run themselves. They are looking for someone who is fun, chatty and enjoys a joke. You don’t have to be good at snooker or bowling just willing to throw yourself into things and have a go! The position is on a voluntary basis but reasonable out of pocket expenses will be paid. It is also subject to an enhanced DBS (Police) check which is currently free to volunteers.
For more information, contact us via email, or phone 01843 224482. Potential volunteers will initially be invited to meet the group for an informal discussion.
