During the summer, our youth services received lottery funding from Sportivate, part of Sport England, to run a 6-week trampoline club for young people with a learning disability.
The club was held at Ramsgate Leisure Centre and sessions were provided by Aire Trampoline Club. The activity proved to be very popular with the young people we support and we hope to secure funding for further sessions in the near future.
Children & Youth Manager, Ange Brown, said: “At the first session, the group were a little cautious, but by the end of the evening no one wanted to leave! Although we held 6 sessions, we reached capacity quickly.”
“It has been really rewarding to support the group to try something new.” commented Ange. “The success of the sessions is not only down to our support workers, but also the trampoline coach, Luke Shiels, who encouraged everyone to be brave and give it a go.”
