In September, Canterbury tenants, Gary and Paul, went on an unsupported, five-day break to Liverpool together. The pair had been talking to staff about going away somewhere, and after seeing adverts in the local newspaper, they went online and found a five-day trip to Liverpool.
Gary and Paul were supported to book the holiday to Liverpool before travelling there independently by coach and staying in a hotel located in the city centre. Before they arrived, the pair booked a number of activities and during their stay visited Cavern Club, Paul McCartney’s childhood home and Anfield Stadium, as well as taking a ferry trip along the River Mersey.
Gary said: “Going to Liverpool with Paul was so much fun; the nightlife was great! I can’t wait for next time.”
“It was great to have a holiday with my mate. I would really like to go back to Liverpool, as the people were very friendly and there was lots more to see,” commented Paul.
Canterbury Community Manager, Della Heaton, said: “It was so nice to see Gary and Paul go away together just the two of them. I think this trip will be the first of many.”
