After last year’s successes, we are pleased to announce that our Thanet and Swale drama groups will be performing pantomimes again this Christmas.
In December, the Thanet group will be performing an Alice in Wonderland inspired show, while the Swale group will present their own rendition of The Lion King.
This year, both groups have received funding, allowing them to make their shows even better!
Support Worker, Karen Blaney, who has been helping the Thanet group prepare for the pantomime all year long, said: “The funding from Thanet District Council has allowed us to book a venue and buy some new props. Being able to perform on a real stage makes the members feel very important, and the new props have helped them to get into character.”
Alongside funding from Swale Borough Council and Minster-on-Sea Rotary Club, the Swale group has also received volunteer support from professional dancer, Michelle Irwin, who has been working with them to learn some routines.
“Having a volunteer who is a professional dancer and choreographer offering this level of expertise is priceless and has really raised the standard of the group, as well as their confidence and self esteem,” commented Swale Community Manager, Jaime Giddings.
The Thanet group will be performing Misadventures in Wonderland on Thursday 8th December, while The Circle of Life will be presented by Swale on Friday 9th December. For more information, contact us via email, or phone 01843-224482.
