On Sunday 14th May, The St Crispin Inn hosted charity helicopter rides to raise money for Cancer Research UK. William House tenants, Philip Lovelock, Joy Crick and Ingrid Jelhe took off into the air for a breathtaking view of East Kent.
Tenant, Sara Ward changed her mind on the day and instead chose to befriend the locals. Whilst waiting for the group to take off, she sat talking to them and spent time cuddling with their friendly dogs. The remaining group, including support workers, Josie Doughton and Kevin Flynn were also apprehensive before the flight and built up courage by reassuring each other. Once up in the air, Philip, Joy and Ingrid relaxed a little and were clearly enjoying the experience. The tenants truly had the best seats in the house as the helicopter toured the local area, giving an incredible view of everything beneath them.
Support Worker, Kevin Flynn commented: “This was a once in a lifetime experience, which has given them the confidence to try new things. We all had a great day, although they may not choose to go again!”
