Referrals now open for our Ashford hub
East Kent Mencap is now accepting referrals for its new Ashford hub.
Based at Kennington Parish Room, the hub will provide opportunities for people with a learning disability to make friends, learn new skills, take part in activities and connect with their local community.
We are inviting referrals from people with a learning disability, family members, carers, support workers, social workers and other professionals.

Our Ashford hub will support people to:
- Take part in social activities and groups
- Access skills development and learning opportunities
- Enjoy creative and wellbeing sessions
- Have a safe, inclusive space to meet others
- Receive support to be active in the local community
Our aim is to create a hub built around choice, support and opportunity.
The hub will also be available for local community to use. We will announce details on how to hire the space shortly.
About Kennington Parish Room
Kennington Parish Room has been a community space in Ashford for generations. It has hosted a wide variety of local events where people come together. We are taking the time to carefully restore and improve the building to ensure it is safe, accessible and welcoming for everyone who will use the Ashford Hub.
