East Kent Mencap is working in partnership with SGN to provide free energy safety advice to people with a learning disability across East Kent.
Through this service, you can get help signing up to the Priority Services Register. This provides extra support if your electricity, gas or water supply is disrupted.
You can also learn how to stay safe from carbon monoxide and receive a free carbon monoxide alarm. We can help you understand how to reduce your energy bills, improve your home's energy efficiency and save energy.
We can provide information and advice about mental health and wellbeing, welfare benefits, debt support, energy grants and funding, and digital support, including broadband services.
Our service includes free carbon monoxide alarms, carbon monoxide safety information, support to sign up to the Priority Services Register, advice on improving energy efficiency, scam awareness information, and signposting to other support services where needed.
Our trained team can provide one-to-one support and energy safety workshops for people with a learning disability. All materials will be in easy-read format, specifically designed to enhance understanding.
