FORGOT YOUR DETAILS?

GOLD Group

This group is on hold at the moment. Contact GOLD if you’d like more information.

GOLD Group meets every Thursday, from 1pm to 3pm, at Royal Victoria Pavilion in Ramsgate. The group provides the opportunity for people with a learning difficulty to:

  • meet new people,
  • find out what's happening in their local area,
  • talk about the things that are important to them,
  • get information and advice about any concerns they may have, and
  • take part in workshops designed to develop their knowledge and skills.

To date, topics of discussion have ranged from leading a healthy lifestyle to understanding rights. Local organisations that have provided workshops include Thanet Volunteer Bureau, Kent Community Health NHS Trust, Kent Police, Jigsaw, Kent Fire & Rescue Service and Learning Disability England.

For more information, contact us via email, or phone 0845 004 1876.

East Kent Mencap's Getting On with Learning Difficulties (GOLD) Project thanked Leon Williams for his generous contribution, after he ran the equivalent of 2 marathons to raise money.

From strength to strength

For over a year, the GOLD Project has been running a weekly snooker club. It began with just a few people attending each week, but that soon changed as the club flourished with up to 14 people in a single week!
Members and staff alike were in a spin to find their head office in Margate had been transformed into a woollen wonderland on Thursday 8th March. Our Women’s Group carried out the ‘yarn bomb’ by decorating the building with colourful wool creations to raise awareness of International Women’s Day.
