East Kent Mencap is launching a new series of free Health and Nature Sessions in Folkestone, designed to support wellbeing, confidence and connection through nature.
The sessions are open to:
- Adults with a learning disability
- Neurodiverse individuals who wish to improve their mental wellbeing
Participants will have the opportunity to take part in a series of friendly and supportive sessions focused on wellbeing, mindfulness and spending time outdoors together.
The project will use local blue and green spaces across Folkestone, including Lower Leas Coastal Park, Mermaid Beach and Sunny Sands, helping people connect with nature while building confidence and friendships in a relaxed group environment.
Activities will focus on:
- Wellbeing and mindfulness
- Spending time outdoors
- Building confidence and connections
- Exploring local blue and green spaces
- Friendly group activities
The project will begin with a sign-up session on Tuesday 30 June at East Kent Mencap’s Folkestone Hub, based inside Age UK Folkestone on Shaftesbury Avenue, CT19 4NS.
The following 6 sessions will then take place outdoors, before finishing with a final session back at the Folkestone Hub.
The sessions are free to attend.
