Crafternoons is a crafting and sewing wellbeing group in Ramsgate for people with a learning difficulty. We host mindful crafting workshops, work with local community organisations, and volunteers come and run sewing sessions.

We use materials from The ScrapStore at EKM and recent projects include making lavender bags and aprons. No crafting or sewing experience is necessary, just come along and have a go!

A group of adults with learning difficulties recently volunteered their time to feature in a short promotional film to raise awareness of our lottery-funded project: Getting On with Learning Difficulties (GOLD).
GOLD supported Alice to attend a tribunal after she was deemed fit for work by the Department for Work and Pensions, despite her physical and learning disabilities.

GOLD makes a difference

Since its launch at the end of last year, our GOLD project has supported a number of people in Thanet, who either do not receive statutory funding or are moving out of the welfare system.
The GOLD team are seeking volunteers to support people to take part in community activities, and recently teamed up with Thanet Volunteer Bureau to encourage volunteering in the area.
