On Thursday 8th May, 17 of our members celebrated VE Day with remembrance, and a true sense of community!
From a delicious lunch to heartfelt reflection during the two-minute silence, the spirit of togetherness was felt all around.
They worked as a team to create the decorations, they shared stories of their families who lived through the war, bringing history to life in a meaningful way.
Learning about history helps build a deeper understanding of the past, promoting empathy, appreciation, and a sense of connection to those who came before us.
By exploring the events of VE Day, our members gained insight into the sacrifices made, the resilience of communities, and the importance of unity in times of hardship.
✨ Special moments from the day:
🎨 Lucy enjoyed making bunting and participating in the silence.
📸 Pat shared nostalgic family photos, remembering loved ones who served. 👗 Ingrid loved dressing up in a full VE Day costume.
💙 Paul reflected on this special day, honouring his Nan and Grandad.
