On Thursday 1st May, our Ramsgate Hub welcomed the @kentfirerescue for an incredible community experience after we invited them to come and give a demonstration!
Our members had the opportunity to explore the fire truck, learn about its essential equipment, and receive important fire safety tips directly from the experts. It was a hands-on session that deepened everyone’s understanding of fire safety and emergency response.
This visit also showed how important community engagement is. It brought people together, allowed us to learn from each other, and built connections between local services and our members.
Some of the feedback we received:
“It was lovely to see the fire engine close up”
“The firefighters were really friendly”
“I saw the masks the firefighters wear and put the oxygen pack on – it was really heavy”
“At night you should shut all of the doors in your house to stop fire spreading”
Huge thanks to Ramsgate Fire Station for their time, knowledge, and dedication!
