One Stop donate £3,000 to holiday club

Carriers for Causes grants support projects that ‘benefit local communities - helping to improve lives and local places’. They are available for good causes within two miles of a One Stop shop. Many members of East Kent Mencap will be familiar with the friendly staff at the One Stop Shop in Northdown Road, so we were hopeful when we sent off a request to fund trips for the young people accessing our holiday clubs.

Children & youth provide Easter holiday clubs

For the Easter holidays, our children & youth department provided clubs for young people of all ages. The project included a five-day club for 8-15 year-olds, and a three-day club for young people aged 16+.

BBC Children in Need funds summer holiday club

BBC Children in Need recently funded us to run youth clubs during the school holidays, providing the opportunity for young people with a learning disability to take part in community activities.

East Kent Mencap expands Youth Services

Following a number of successful funding bids, we are in the process of expanding our Youth Services to meet the requirements of young people with higher support needs.

Santa visits East Kent Mencap’s youth club

BBC Children In Need fund East Kent Mencap’s youth clubs

BBC Children In Need is currently funding East Kent Mencap to run youth clubs during the school holidays, providing the opportunity for young people to take part in community activities.

Sportivate funds 6-week trampoline club

During the summer, our youth services received lottery funding from Sportivate to run a 6-week trampoline club for young people with a learning disability.
