Make a real difference for people with learning disabilities.
East Kent Mencap (EKM) is more than a charity. We are a community dedicated to empowering people with learning disabilities, autism, and complex needs. Supporting people to find friendships and independence, we enable children and adults to achieve goals they never thought possible.
Our purpose is to build the confidence, self-esteem, and skills of people with a learning disability, while creating opportunities both now and for the future. We want people with a learning disability to be seen, heard, and valued by their communities. We are especially proud of our Members Committee, represented by people supported by EKM who advocate for the diverse services and areas we cover.
We are looking for passionate Volunteer Directors to help shape our future and ensure we deliver on this mission. As a Director, you’ll join a values-driven charity committed to empowering people, challenging stereotypes, and making a positive impact in East Kent. You’ll help oversee strategy, ensure good governance, and make sure resources are used effectively whilst working with a dedicated team who truly care.
