East Kent Mencap provides opportunities and choices in East Kent for adults and children with learning disabilities, to enable them to achieve the things that they want out of life and to be valued, treated equally, listened to and included.
Although East Kent Mencap is affiliated to National Mencap, we are independently registered and governed, and self-financed. If you wish to support our activities, donations should be made directly to East Kent Mencap.
You can help give people with learning disabilities a Merry Christmas by sticking something in your digital basket that members & staff have chosen as items their groups, clubs and projects really need in 2014!
We have about 75 items on the list ranging from £1 to £50. You can have a direct impact on the daily services we provide with just a few clicks. A few examples:
Kitchenware for our cooking groups and housing units such as digital scales and a thermometer.
Props for our drama groups such as wigs and false noses!
Memory cards, batteries & affordable cameras for the photography groups
Bird feeders, seeds, tools & even a bench for our gardening project!
Balls for our golf & football groups!
Music for our sensory workshops!
USB sticks for the computer group.
Craft materials for the art group.
Games for our youth club.
You pay for the item along with the rest of your things and click to post to our address
Spread the cheer by letting people know you have supported us via Facebook & Twitter!
We want the festive season to be a time for friends & celebration, where no one feels lonely or left out. Everything we receive will have a positive impact on the way we support people with learning disabilities– helping our groups and activities to become even better!
Merry Christmas & Happy 2014 from everybody at East Kent Mencap!
